Dm notifications

I don’t want to endlessly doomscroll but I have some people that I only talk to on Instagram so I was wondering if it was possible to allow notifications from Instagram but just make me check before I go into it, I would also stop me from wanting to check all the time when blocked because I would know if someone messaged me or not
